VIVID MEMORIES: INTRODUCTION Originally published on 8/3/2016
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ~Maya Angelou
This is a series of blog posts where I will describe events and circumstances both good and bad in detail as I recall them. They will be raw, real, and will not be edited much apart from grammar. The posts may contain content that ranges from graphic to embarrassing to being deeply personal to simply random recurring thoughts. I will try my best to not censor my writing, and not have a justice or education aspect unless I strongly feel it needed or is associated with the memory I am sharing. This series will act as more of a journal and the telling of what often plays in my mind.
I am entitling this series Vivid Memories because everything I share will be those instances in my life that don’t seem to go away, and the details have not faded. I may post other blogs unrelated to the series between them. There is no specific amount of time or specific number of posts that I plan to write and share. It may be series that is only a 2 or 3 posts long. It may be 15. It may last for 6 months or 10 years. There is no specific goal I am aiming for or reaction I am hoping to get. I simply want to write and share my raw material and my raw self. Unfiltered. Without the grace and positivity I often portray myself as having.
Although those feelings are real and evident, they do not consume me 100% of the time, and I want to share all of me. I want to share everything that has happened, and everything that affects me before I second guess and turn to psychology and the benefit of the doubt for explanations.
Love & Faith,
